“What to you want to be when you are older?” “I don’t know, go on adventures I think. Not stay in one place.”

As much as I love Fall, sometimes the endless number of cloudy days, windy nights and bottomless cups of tea can be dear I say, a bit of a snooze. On the upside, this kind of weather is perfect to curl up and watch movies that have been on my To-Do list since the start of Summer.
Moonrise Kingdom is just the type of movie that makes gloomy Fall days more tolerable. Set in 1965 on an island called New Penzance. The film follows the tale of young lovers, Sam Shakusky and Suzy Bishop. Sam is an orphaned Khaki Scout on the island. Suzy is a dreamer  living with her attorny parents on the island and is considered a "problem child". Both are outsiders, artists and dreamers who feel out of touch with the reality around them. Through a year's worth of letters, they decide to run away together and explore the island in search of a cove they end up naming Moonrise Kingdom.

I sat through the entire movie anxiously waiting to go fine myself a pair of binoculars and a pair of what Suzy calls "Sunday school shoes". Her dainty wardrobe is filled with dresses in saturated shades of pink and yellow topped with ever so trendy peter pan collars. If you want to channel a bit of 60's school girl charm, find your nearest pair of knee socks and lace those dainty little Sunday school shoes!
